FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Baldwin veterinarian, Danielle Johnson, running for Wisconsin State Assembly District 28

BALDWIN, WI - JUNE 11, 2024 - Danielle Johnson, DVM, has announced her candidacy for Wisconsin’s new 28th Assembly District. A veterinarian and small business owner, Johnson is a trained listener and experienced problem-solver committed to restoring representative democracy to the Wisconsin state legislature.

Johnson is running to represent the interests of voters over those of special interest groups and large donors. She views this seat, which is open due to Wisconsin’s new legislative maps, as an opportunity to accept federal healthcare funding, safeguard our water, advocate for quality childcare and protect access to reproductive healthcare—all issues with popular support across party lines.

“Leaders who communicate truthfully and act in good faith bring communities like ours together in the face of serious challenges,” said Johnson. “When I speak with people, it’s clear that many of us share common values that can serve as the foundation for creating meaningful, lasting improvements in people’s lives. I am hopeful that with the new district boundaries, the legislature will once again work together to find solutions to problems that affect the everyday lives of Wisconsinites.”

Under Wisconsin’s new legislative maps, this seat represents eastern and central St. Croix County, including the communities of Baldwin, Glenwood City, Hammond, New Richmond, Roberts, Somerset, Spring Valley, Star Prairie, Woodville and the surrounding areas.
