“The key was the love inside the building,” Page explained. “That love was unimaginable. There were people who loved this community, who loved this organization and who wanted to provide exceptional care to the community. That’s why I stayed.

“This wasn’t about me. This is about great people coming together and making it happen.”

Those great people wanted to say thanks.

“Her leadership has influenced my leadership and growth over the last several years,” said Western Wisconsin Health Board President Danielle Johnson. “Learning from her and being supported by her has changed me forever as a person.”

Letter: The more political the better

You’ve heard it when sometimes friends or family members tell us “don’t be so political.” The phrase suggests everything in Wisconsin and America is fine. 

For example, gerrymandered districts that lock in Republican legislative majorities are fine, even if Democrats cast more than 50% of the votes in nearly every election.

Gov. Evers and friends campaign in Somerset as race to November officially starts

“Getting Gov. Evers reelected is essential to the fairness of our next Presidential elections.

“I want to help solve the problems that real Wisconsinites are having instead of bickering about extremism.” 

Johnson chose the Assembly because she believes it could have more 1-on-1 conversations with voters.

Governor Evers stops to promote “Unity Tour”

Governor Tony Evers made a stop in Somerset to promote his “Unity Tour” on Aug. 11. The tour included other prominent state officials including Lieutenant Governor candidate Sara Rodriguez and Attorney General Josh Kaul.

State assembly candidates from the western Wisconsin region were in attendance too. Patty Schachtner, Sarah Yacoub, Danielle Johnson, and Allison Page all had booths, interacting with supporters.

St. Croix County Democrats will be voting on a strong slate of candidates going into the August primary and November election, according to participants in the party’s first Meet the Candidates Breakfast, June 4 in River Falls.

Johnson describes life in the veterinarian world

Danielle Johnson is celebrating her 20th year as a veterinarian this year. “It’s a very stressful job, but I still can’t imagine doing anything else,” she said. 

Johnson has owned Homestead Veterinary Clinic since May 2011. She recalls it being herself and one technician in the early stages. Now, the business has 12 employees and two vets.
